Steel Foundations – BEAM

GroundPlug® BEAM

GroundPlug® Beam

Strong foundation for extra large design loads

THE GROUNDPLUG®  BEAM FOUNDATION IS BASED ON A COMBINATION OF SEVERAL SIMPLE GROUNDPLUG® FOUNDATIONS OF THE TYPE SK, GP OR PILEXPRO CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER WITH A STEEL BEAM SYSTEM.

GroundPlug® Beam is an adaptable solution used for projects such as very large pylons, wind turbines, etc., where the required load capacity cannot be achieved with a single foundation. This may be due to terrain topography, underground installations and infrastructure, or poor soil conditions.

Strong Foundation

GroundPlug® Beam consists of several individual steel foundations on which a beam system is mounted. The foundation can thus be used for large design loads or in unfavourable soil conditions.

Quality & Precision

Like all our patented GroundPlug® products, the GroundPlug® Beam foundation is also protected against corrosion by means of a hot-dip galvanising process.

Different Areas of Focus

This type of foundation system is mainly used for stadium masts, wind turbines, large signs and pylons.

A Well-Known Project

GroundPlug® Beam system is designed for various customers worldwide of all sizes, including foundations for the Olympic signs in London in 2012, which were mounted on GroundPlug® foundations.

INSTALLATION

The GROUNDPLUG® BEAM FOUNDATION IS BASED ON A COMBINATION OF SEVERAL GROUNDPLUG® SK, GP OR PILEX FOUNDATIONS, WHICH ARE CONNECTED WITH STEEL BEAMS.

GroundPlug® Beam foundations can be adapted to the specific loads of a project by combining more or fewer individual GroundPlug® foundations, to which a suitable base plate is added. All patented GroundPlug® products are corrosion-protected with a hot-dip galvanised surface.

DOCUMENTATION

ALL STEEL FOUNDATIONS FROM GROUNDPLUG® ARE BASED ON CALCULATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH:

EN 1990, EN 1991-1-1, EN 1991-1-3, EN 1991-1-4,EN 1991-2, EN 1993-1-1, EN 1993-1-3, EN, 1993-1-5,EN 1993-1-8, EN 1993-1-9, EN 1993-5, EN 1997-1,EN 1997-2, EN 1794-1.

ANALYTICAL CALCULATIONS AND PRACTICAL TESTS:

  • ASTM Standard Designation (ASTMD1143, ASTM D3689, ASTM D3966) of pressure, tension and horizontal load on single screw foundations. Performed by Applied Foundation Testing (AFT), USA, and CLTTHOMPSON INC, USA.
  • NIRAS capacity and soil calculations, verified by LPILE by Ensoft Inc.

Our engineering team can provide design documentation for any structure based on European Design Standards (Eurocodes 0-9) and national annexes. Calculations can also be based on applicable American and Australian Design Standards.
