In 2014 the decision was made to extend the Koge Bay highway – a project that was good news for many commuters, but less good news for the residents along the highway. The Koge Bay highway is the busiest highway in Denmark. To protect local residents from road noise, several noise barriers were built along the highway in 2014. At GroundPlug, we were subcontractor for six noise barriers at the Karlslunde service area. In total, the GroundPlug noise barriers are approx. 4 km long and 4.5 m high and consist of glass or aluminum with wooden cladding.
