Project description
Our customer in Hornbæk, Denmark wanted to expand the living area of his summer house with a 45m2 annex. The soil conditions on the building site were challenging with soft clay and the foundation depth 4-6 metres. Screw foundations are an ideal solution for building sites with poor soil conditions. As it is far easier to reach down to the depth where there is bearing capacity in the ground and thus avoid massive excavation, gravel driving, tamping and disposal of soil.
Installation
Another advantage of Groundplug® PilexProTM Screw foundations is that the solution is completely adaptable on-site. The PilexProTM series consists of 4 lengths of screw foundations and 4 lengths of extension pieces from 1000mm to 4000mm.
Thus, at the installation site, we can measure whether sufficient load-bearing capacity has been achieved for the individual foundation and extend with exactly the right length of extension to achieve a solid foundation. Even with surprises on site, we can deliver the foundation without delays – even if the conditions turn out to be different from expected.
The installation of the foundation for this annexe project took a single day and was therefore ready for our client to start construction the next morning.
