Noise barrier Koge Bay highway

Facts

  • Project name: Noise barrier Koge Bay highway
  • Contract: Subcontractor
  • Client: Danish Road Directorate
  • Implementation: 2014

Project description

In 2014 the decision was made to extend the Koge Bay highway – a project that was good news for many commuters, but less good news for the residents along the highway. The Koge Bay highway is the busiest highway in Denmark. To protect local residents from road noise, several noise barriers were built along the highway in 2014. At GroundPlug®, we were subcontractor for six noise barriers at the Karlslunde service area. In total, the GroundPlug® noise barriers are approx. 4 km long and 4.5 m high and consist of glass or aluminum with wooden cladding.

Installation

Our patented GroundPlug® HE foundations were used to establish the noise barriers along the Koge Bay Highway. The installation of these foundations is particularly fast and effective, as only minimal earthworks are required prior to installation. The screw group of the foundations can be generously adjusted, which allows the noise barriers to be installed precisely and quickly.
