Following the expansion of the East Jutland motorways from four to six lanes in 2018 and 2019, the Danish Road Directorate has now reached the part of the project phase that includes noise reduction for residents along the stretch.
GroundPlug® Industry has won the project and will install a total of 2,050 metres of noise barriers at Skanderborg for the Danish Road Directorate in the second half of 2021.
400 metres of the project is a noise barrier between the ramps at junction 53 Skanderborg S (Vrold) and 1.6 kilometres is the noise barrier between Vestermose at Mossøvej and junction 52 Skanderborg V.
Part of the noise barrier will be built on the existing noise embankment and will have a final height of approx. 9 metres, while the remaining part will be 6 metres high.
The barrier will be constructed as a ‘green barrier’ with vegetation on both sections. A ‘green barrier’ is a living noise barrier solution combined with climbing plants.
The noise barrier consists of steel columns mounted on GroundPlug® HE foundations, whose bolt group can be adjusted to achieve high precision and a quick installation process.
A concrete base forms the transition to the ground, on which the cassette is mounted, consisting of a steel frame with a compact Rockwool core. The steel frame forms a climbing trellis for the subsequent planting, which will cover the screen and create a natural aesthetic appearance while also absorbing CO2.
