Steel Foundations – GP/SK

GroundPlug® SK/GP

GroundPlug® SK/GP

Strong foundation for pylons and masts

GROUNDPLUG® SK/GP IS AN IDEAL SOLUTION FOR FOUNDATIONS WHERE THERE IS BOTH A HIGH TENSILE/COMPRESSIVE LOAD AND DISPLACEMENT. This foundation, specially designed for masts, pylons and similar structures, is available in two versions: the GroundPlug® SK foundation with anchoring shovel and the GroundPlug® GP foundation without shovel, but with the same design as the SK products. The shovel is used when extra tensile load capacity is required.

Flexible Adaptation

The capacity of the GroundPlug® GP foundation can be increased by installing a shovel system that opens up in the ground once the foundation has been installed. The foundation with the shovel system is called the GroundPlug® SK foundation.

Different Areas of Focus

GroundPlug® SK and GP foundations are primarily used for lighting, street furniture, road signs for the Danish Road Directorate and signs for Banedanmark.

INSTALLATION

Single GroundPlug® SK or GP foundations are mainly used for large signage, commercial signs, lighting installations, flagpoles and street furniture.

DOCUMENTATION

ALL STEEL FOUNDATIONS FROM GROUNDPLUG® ARE BASED ON CALCULATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH:

EN 1990, EN 1991-1-1, EN 1991-1-3, EN 1991-1-4,EN 1991-2, EN 1993-1-1, EN 1993-1-3, EN, 1993-1-5, EN 1993-1-8, EN 1993-1-9, EN 1993-5, EN 1997-1,EN 1997-2, EN 1794-1.

ANALYTICAL CALCULATIONS AND PRACTICAL TESTS:

  • ASTM Standard Designation (ASTMD1143, ASTM D3689, ASTM D3966) of pressure, tension and horizontal load on single screw foundations. Performed by Applied Foundation Testing (AFT), USA, and CLTTHOMPSON INC, USA.
  • NIRAS capacity and soil calculations, verified by LPILE by Ensoft Inc.

Our engineering team can provide design documentation for any structure based on European Design Standards (Eurocodes 0-9) and national annexes. Calculations can also be based on applicable American and Australian Design Standards.
